“Moving Forward: Life After the Great East Japan Earthquake”

On display at the Fowler Museum until April 15, this exhibition commemorates the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan’s Tōhoku region on March 11, 2011.

On Saturday, March 10, a symposium will be held at the Fowler Museum from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. Moderated by Hitoshi Abe, professor and chair of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design, the symposium will feature a panel of experts who will discuss the disaster and the recovery efforts that have taken place in the region. A reception will follow the symposium, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.

The Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies has full details of the exhibition here. To attend the symposium and reception, please RSVP here.
